Work­ing field:

The Department of Hydrogeology deals with the sustainable management of water resources in
hydrologically sensitive regions that require modern concepts due to land use and climate change. The main task of the position holder is the development of a geological conceptual and structural models for the Quaternary aquifers of the Lausitz. The focus is on the transfer of geological point information from boreholes into a spatial 3D geological model of the subsurface, which will later be incorporated into a groundwater model.
The candidate is expected to teach hydrogeological classes with 4 SWS per semester and to supervise bachelor and master theses. The focus is on experimental field methods.


We are searching for a person with experience in the geology of sedimentary systems and the genesis of Quaternary deposits in Northern Germany holding a successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in geosciences with emphasis on quaternary geology. Basic knowledge of hydrogeology is an advantage. A good command of German and English is expected.
