This is essential for medical and biotechnological applications, such as preventing biofilms and biofouling, but also for using bacteria as drug carriers. PhD thesis preparation is possible.

Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a comparable subject, very good knowledge in theoretical physics and in numerical methods. Prior knowledge in statistical physics of soft matter and biological systems are desired. Independent work style and high level of commitment. Good command of German and/or English ist required; willingness to learn either English or German.
