"System of the Future" (Geographic Information Science) - Intern or working student (f/m/d)
Take part in shaping the energy system beyond 2030 in a proactive think tank.
We seek for answers to the most urgent questions in order to path the way to full decarbonisation of the energy system. With strategic guidance of our colleagues, you will research and shape outstanding concepts for a leading TSO in Europe.
Contribute to our offshore market intelligence with help of geo data analysis,
Obtain and process a wide range of offshore related geo data and perform visual analytics on it,
Implement partitioning and multi criteria analysis to facilitate our studies,
Develop ideas to present your results with help of a web processing service,
Support other departments in investigation of future power system development (e.g. related to offshore grid development, project ideation) and collaborate both on technical solutions and business development,
Chance to perform small simulations or quick analysis on Europe's future energy system to quantify your findings,
Finalise reports and draft outstanding slides as preparation for workshops and meetings.
You are pursuing your master's degree in Geo Information Science, Cartography or other Computer Science related to geo-data processing. Alternatively you have other sufficient work experience in that field,
You have passion for energy transition (power systems, offshore wind power etc.),
You have experience in GIS software (preferably QGIS), database management (preferably SQL) and OpenGIS web services,
You are creative, innovative, proactive and result driven as well as have analytical and abstract reasoning,
Have very good knowledge of MS Office applications,
Very good English skills and good knowledge of spoken and written German.
Experience in data science (with Matlab, R or Python) as well as knowledge of Dutch and French make your application particularly interesting for us.
