The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

The posi­tion is star­ting 01.08.2020. The posi­tion is limi­ted until 31.03.2022. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz-WissZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion.

Work­ing field:

The focus of your task is the for­mal mode­ling and trans­for­ma­tion of reci­pes for modu­lar pro­cess plants. Fur­ther­more, the imple­men­ta­tion and exten­sion of a pro­cess con­trol level for orches­tra­tion of the plant, which pro­ces­ses the reci­pes and exe­cu­tes the under­ly­ing ser­vice-based steps, is ano­t­her essen­tial aspect of the work. The rese­arch results will be coor­di­na­ted with the pro­ject part­ners from indus­try and sci­ence and will be published at inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­ren­ces and in reco­gnised jour­nals.


above average uni­ver­sity degree in the field of Com­pu­ter sci­ence, infor­ma­tion sys­tems engi­nee­ring, elec­tri­cal engi­nee­ring, pro­cess infor­ma­tics or rela­ted fields. You should have an enthu­si­asm for new chal­len­ges in recipe engi­nee­ring and infor­ma­tion model­ling. This requi­res solid know­ledge of describ­ing infor­ma­tion models and model trans­for­ma­ti­ons, as well as very good pro­gramming skills in com­mon lan­guages. An inde­pen­dent, goal- and solu­tion-ori­en­ted way of working and inter- and mul­ti­di­sci­pli­nary thin­king as well as a con­fi­dent com­mand of the Eng­lish and Ger­man lan­guage in spo­ken and writ­ten. Expe­ri­ence in pro­cess engi­nee­ring is desi­ra­ble.
