Their learn­ing needs, life exper­i­ences, and ref­er­ence points become more var­ied and col­our­ful by the day. Meet­ing that means ensur­ing users see them­selves reflec­ted —not just in our product— but the world it allows them to ima­gine with us. That means reflect­ing the dynam­ism and diversity of our users, as much as pos­sible, in the pro­duc­tion of Bab­bel. We cur­rently have 600 people from more than 50 nation­al­it­ies work­ing in our Ber­lin and New York offices, chal­len­ging and learn­ing from each other at every step. A cul­ture of dif­fer­ence and dig­nity is crit­ical to how we’ve con­nec­ted with mil­lions of users, in every hemi­sphere.

Edit­or­ial Work­ing Stu­dent - Eng­lish mar­kets

Work­ing field:

We are look­ing for a work­ing stu­dent (20h/week) to scale and strengthen the con­tent on the Eng­lish edi­tion of Bab­bel Magazine. As an Edit­or­ial Work­ing Stu­dent, your mis­sion will be to sup­port the cre­ation and optim­iz­a­tion of art­icles for Eng­lish speak­ing mar­kets (par­tic­u­larly the UK, Canada and Aus­tralia).

You will:
  • Join one of Ger­many’s top Con­tent Mar­ket­ing teams while work­ing on the Eng­lish edi­tion of Bab­bel Magazine
  • Play a key role in the eval­u­ation, devel­op­ment and mon­it­or­ing of con­tent on the Bab­bel Magazine
  • Execute keyword research and optim­iz­a­tion of exist­ing magazine con­tent
  • Work closely with the SEO depart­ment while report­ing to the Edit­or­ial team
  • Write keyword-optim­ized art­icles for the Bab­bel Magazine
  • Learn about what makes con­tent per­form and optim­ize exist­ing con­tent based on these factors

Require­ments:

  • Nat­ive-level Eng­lish lan­guage skills
  • The abil­ity to be self-motiv­ated, organ­ized, pro­act­ive (and fun!)
  • Pre­cise edit­or­ial, copy­writ­ing and proofread­ing skills
  • Exper­i­ence in writ­ing a vari­ety of dif­fer­ent text formats (such as art­icles, essays, inter­views, video or audio scripts)
  • Interest in online con­tent trends both writ­ten and visual

Nice to have:
  • Exper­i­ence in edit­or­ial or mar­ket­ing
  • Basic know­ledge of Con­tent Man­age­ment Sys­tems such as Word­Press
  • Pro­fi­ciency in any lan­guage other than Eng­lish
