Work­ing Group "Applied Func­tional Ana­lysis" within the Cluster of Excel­lence MATH+

Work­ing field:

Research in the work­ing group "Applied Func­tional Ana­lysis" related to the pro­ject EF1-1 "Quan­ti­fy­ing Uncer­tain­ties in Explain­able AI" within the frame¬work of the Excel¬lence Cluster MATH+. This pro­ject aims at the devel­op­ment of math­em­at­ical meth­ods for the explan­a­tion of decisions by arti­fi­cial neural net­works as well as a the­or­et­ical ana­lysis of the func­tion­al­ity of these meth­ods, with a par­tic­u­lar emphasis on uncer­tain­ties.

Require­ments:

  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in Math­em­at­ics or Com­puter Sci­ence
  • PhD desired though not required
  • pro­found know­ledge in at least one of the sub­areas of the field Math­em­at­ics of Data Sci­ence
  • know­ledge of Machine Learn­ing is desir­able
  • good Eng­lish lan­guage skills are desired
