Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung

The Max Planck Institute for Human Development is dedicated to the study of human development and education. Researchers of various disciplines work together on interdisciplinary projects at the Berlin Institute.

Three-Month Fulltime Internship
Starting February or March 2019

Working field:

The CONMEM Project (Cognitive and Neural Dynamics of Memory Across the Lifespan) at the Center for Lifespan Psychology, Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, seeks motivated and reliable student applicants for a

Three-Month Fulltime Internship Starting February or March 2019

The project ́s aim is to understand the mechanisms that lead to differences in attention, episodic and working memory across the lifespan. For this purpose we combine experimental and training studies with imaging techniques such as EEG and structural and functional MRI. Occasionally we also collect eye-tracking and peripheral physiological data.

We are looking for two reliable and responsible students of psychology, neuroscience, or related subjects who enjoy dealing with people of different age groups. Requirements are advanced English language skills and an interest in neurocognitive developmental psychology. We are looking for one student to work on data analysis (fluent English required) and one student to work on data collection (fluent German required). Methodological experience (Matlab, R, SPSS) are beneficial.

What we offer:

Internships in our project enable students to gain experience in preparation and realization of EEG and (f)MRI studies and analysis of data in developmental psychology. Interns work on defined tasks that are part of our on-going research projects and will be supervised by scientific staff.
The reimbursement will be 380 EUR per month.
The Max Planck Society is committed to increasing the number of individuals with disabilities in its workforce and therefore encourages applications from such qualified individuals. The Max Planck Society seeks to increase the number of women in those areas where they are underrepresented and therefore explicitly encourages women to apply.

How to apply:

Full applications containing a CV (in English), Bachelor or other university certificates, graduation diploma, job certificates, reference letters (where these exist), and cover letter (in English) should be sent without a photo as a single PDF file to:

Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2018, to ensure consideration. However, review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
