The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Rese­arch Asso­ciate /PhD Posi­tion

The posi­tion is offe­red in a BMBF fun­ded pro­ject „Neu­ar­tige Kata­ly­sa­to­ren aus Rest­stof­fen für die Nut­zung fos­si­ler und bio­ge­ner Roh­stoffe in der Erd­öl­raf­fi­ne­rie“ (ReCaLl) star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion ent­ails 50 % of the full­time weekly hours and is limi­ted until 31.08.2020. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by Fixed Term rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz Wiss­ZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. PhD).

Work­ing field:

Inde­pen­dent rese­arch topic work, lea­ding to the explo­ra­tion of struc­ture-effect rela­ti­ons­hips by labor-scale cata­lytic tes­ting of indus­trial solid-acids, their fully ana­lytic-che­mi­cal cha­rac­te­riza­t­ion as well as their app­li­ca­tion and opti­miza­t­ion of pre­ce­ding syn­the­sis, post-syn­the­sis and indus­trial shaping pro­ce­du­res.


uni­ver­sity degree (Mas­ter or equi­va­lent) in che­mis­try; an inte­gra­tive and coope­ra­tive per­so­na­lity with high team­work abili­ties, self-moti­va­tion skills and orga­niza­t­io­nal talent; inte­rest in app­li­ca­tion-ori­en­ted che­mi­cal rese­arch; deep know­ledge in hete­ro­ge­neous cata­ly­sis, pre­fe­r­a­bly con­cerning fol­lo­wing topics: zeo­li­tes, “Fluid Cata­lytic Cracking” (FCC) and solid-acid cha­rac­te­riza­t­ion; expe­ri­ence in sta­ti­s­ti­cal data eva­lua­tion as well as in kine­tic and mecha­ni­s­tic ana­ly­sis of com­plex reac­tion net­work; PC, Micro­soft Office and che­mi­cal soft­ware hand­ling know­ledge.
