The group of Prof. Dr. Rauer performs research in the field of planetary physics at the Center of Astronomy and Astrophysics. The focus is on the detection of extrasolar planets and the numerical modeling of their atmospheres. Prof. Dr. Rauer is PI of the ESA PLATO Mission and the Coordinator of the DFG priority programs “SPP1992 - Exploring the Diversity of Extrasolar Planets”.
Assistance to the coordinator for the DFG priority programs “SPP1992 - Exploring the Diversity of Extrasolar Planets”.
The position is part of the DFG's Exploring the Diversity of Extrasolar Planets program (SPP 1992). The aim of the SPP in 1992 is to bring together the various aspects of the theory and observation of exoplanet research.
successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or astrophysics and a PhD in astrophysics.
profound knowledge in the field of extrasolar planets and experience in project management is needed to actively support the coordination of the priority program
very good English language skills; working language within the group is English
