Global Sales Intern

PayU’s Global Com­mer­cial team is look­ing for a gradu­ate intern with a digital / tech back­ground to work with a tal­en­ted team of pro­fes­sion­als in a fast-paced and dynamic envir­on­ment that has the entre­pren­eur­ial feel of a start-up.

Respons­ib­il­it­ies include ana­lyz­ing the global mer­chant pipeline, sourcing scal­able part­ner­ships and driv­ing Global SMB Mer­chants from first con­tact to get­ting live. You are respons­ible for the entire life cycle from sourcing to sign­ing, board­ing to optim­iz­a­tion. You are also com­fort­able and skilled at cross-selling and up-selling new PayU products and fea­tures.

In order to suc­ceed, the can­did­ate will need to apply a com­bin­a­tion of sales, man­age­ment and prob­lem solv­ing skills to quickly build and main­tain rela­tion­ships intern­ally across all PayU regions as well ver­tic­ally across mer­chant organ­iz­a­tions.

Areas of Respons­ib­il­ity
  • Identify part­ners, cus­tom­ers, addi­tional ver­tic­als and mar­ket oppor­tun­it­ies.
  • Identify new sales leads, sales pri­or­it­ies and close busi­ness deals and gen­er­ate rev­enue
  • Develop a strong sales strategy to grow PayU’s accept­ance at lead­ing global Mer­chants
  • Research needs of other com­pan­ies and identify ways PayU can solve these needs.
  • Build strong rela­tion­ships and work effect­ively with all internal and external teams includ­ing sales, busi­ness devel­op­ment, mar­ket­ing, and product man­age­ment.
  • Work closely with the mar­ket­ing and part­ner­ships team to estab­lish suc­cess­ful chan­nel and part­ner pro­grams for SMB Mer­chants.
  • Effect­ively artic­u­late PayU’s sales pro­pos­i­tion in rela­tion to pro­spects’ tech­nical require­ments and busi­ness needs.
  • Build and main­tain product know­ledge, keep­ing abreast of product enhance­ments and latest industry trends, and provide feed­back to product and sales man­age­ment.
  • Role includes travel for in-per­son meet­ings with mer­chants and events.


  • Gradu­ate Intern (altern­at­ive young pro­fes­sional); MBA or equi­val­ent pre­ferred
  • Pas­sion for tech­no­logy, high energy, curi­os­ity, flex­ib­il­ity and drive are key ingredi­ents to be suc­cess­ful.
  • Abil­ity to oper­ate in a highly ambigu­ous and fast-paced envir­on­ment with mul­tiple com­pet­ing pri­or­it­ies.
  • Sales exper­i­ence at a growth stage Inter­net/ Soft­ware Com­pany (work­ing in cli­ent facing role, such as busi­ness devel­op­ment, sales or account man­age­ment).
  • Prior exper­i­ence and good under­stand­ing of the Pay­ments & FinTech Industry is a plus
  • Meth­od­ical, organ­ized, self-starter, with a pos­it­ive can-do atti­tude.
  • Strong inter­per­sonal skills with an emphasis on team work, ini­ti­at­ive and own­er­ship.
  • Abil­ity to build strong rela­tion­ships and work effect­ively with all internal and external teams includ­ing sales, busi­ness devel­op­ment, mar­ket­ing, and product man­age­ment.
  • Excel­lent prob­lem-solv­ing, ana­lyt­ical and writ­ten/spoken com­mu­nic­a­tion skills.
  • Flu­ent in Eng­lish, Span­ish and or East­ern European Lan­guage.
