Leib­niz-Zen­trum für Agrar­land­schafts­for­schung e.V. - HR

Die Mis­sion des Leib­niz-Zen­trums für Agrar­land­schafts­for­schung (ZALF) e. V. als natio­nal und inter­na­tio­nal agie­ren­des For­schungs­zen­trum ist es, an der öko­no­misch, öko­lo­gisch und sozial nach­hal­ti­gen Land­wirt­schaft der Zukunft zu for­schen – gemein­sam mit Akteu­ren aus der Wis­sen­schaft, Poli­tik und Pra­xis. Das ZALF ist Mit­glied der Leib­niz-Gemein­schaft und unter­hält neben dem Haupt­stand­ort in Mün­che­berg (ca. 35 Minu­ten mit der Regio­nal­bahn von Ber­lin-Lich­ten­berg) eine For­schungs­sta­tion mit wei­te­ren Stand­or­ten in Dede­low sowie Pau­li­nen­aue.

Research asso­ci­ate “Biod­iversity impact assess­ment”(f/m/d)

We are offer­ing a part time pos­i­tion (50%) from the 01.Feb­ru­ary 2023 till 30.11.2026 at our cam­pus in Müncheberg as Research asso­ci­ate (f/m/d)

Working field:

  • review­ing exist­ing know­ledge on Biod­iversity /ESS impacts of crop­ping sys­tems on mar­ginal land across Europe
  • devel­op­ment and para­met­riz­a­tion of a region­ally adap­ted multi-spe­cies biod­iversity/ESS indic­ator sys­tem. (rule based); per­form­ing regional ques­tion­naires on regional biod­iversity/ESS tar­gets
  • devel­op­ment of a simple mon­it­or­ing pro­tocol for the indic­ator sys­tem as men­tioned above
  • ana­lysis of the empir­ical mon­it­or­ing data; apply­ing them to the biod­iversity/ESS indic­ator sys­tem
  • report­ing recom­mend­a­tions for the fur­ther optim­iz­a­tion of crop­ping sys­tems for indus­trial crops on mar­ginal land
  • present­a­tion of research find­ings on national/inter­na­tional con­fer­ences and pub­lic­a­tion in peer-reviewed journ­als.


  • Mas­ter (MSc) in Agri­cul­ture, Eco­logy, Envir­on­mental Sci­ences, or related fields
  • exper­i­ence in agri­cul­tural arable crop­ping sys­tems
  • know­ledge in the eco­logy/bio­logy of some of the fol­low­ing biod­iversity groups (pol­lin­at­ors, ground beetles, farm­land bird, weeds)
  • strong organ­iz­a­tional and com­mu­nic­at­ive skills and sense of respons­ib­il­ity
  • exper­i­ence in present­ing research find­ings on con­fer­ences and in sci­entific pub­lic­a­tions
  • good com­mand of the Eng­lish lan­guage (spoken and writ­ten)
  • abil­ity to work in an inter­na­tional team
