Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

start­ing as soon as pos­sible. The pos­i­tion entails 50 % of the full­time weekly hours and is lim­ited until Septem­ber 30, 2025. The period of employ­ment is gov­erned by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Con­tracts Act (Wis­senschaft­szeitver­trags­ge­setz-Wis­sZeitVG).

Working field:

Syn­thesis and char­ac­ter­iz­a­tion of por­ous Metal-Organic Frame­works (MOFs). The fur­ther task is the devel­op­ment of instru­ment­a­tion for in situ time-resolved Powder X-ray Dif­frac­tion in par­al­lel to the adsorp­tion of gases and vapours in por­ous MOFs. The instru­ment­a­tion will be com­mis­sioned at P23 beam­line of PETRA III syn­chro­tron (DESY, Ham­burg). Writ­ing beam­time applic­a­tions, manu­als and ana­lysis of the meas­ured data belong to the task of the research asso­ci­ate.

Requirements:

Very good uni­versity degree in chem­istry or exper­i­mental phys­ics; solid know­ledge in X-ray dif­frac­tion tech­niques, good PC know­ledge, the know­ledge of Python pro­gram­ming lan­guage and CAD-3D soft­ware is advant­age­ous; exper­i­ence in the use and ser­vice of sci­entific-tech­nical devices; high self-motiv­a­tion; good com­mand of writ­ten and spoken Eng­lish; capa­city for team­work and organ­iz­a­tional tal­ent; will­ing­ness to busi­ness trips.
