You will coordin­ate the stra­tegic devel­op­ment of the cen­ter in close cooper­a­tion with the found­ing dir­ector, the CDIO of the TU Dresden and the sci­entific dir­ect­ors of the depart­ments asso­ci­ated with CIDS. You rep­res­ent CIDS in internal and external com­mu­nic­a­tion, espe­cially at the inter­face of sci­ence, eco­nomy and polit­ics. Their tasks also include the pro­mo­tion of the stra­tegic and sci­entific devel­op­ment of CIDS, the organ­iz­a­tion of the recruit­ment pro­cess of tal­en­ted sci­ent­ists, the trans­fer of res­ults and the con­trol of suc­cess. In addi­tion, you will coordin­ate the fur­ther devel­op­ment of cooper­a­tion with uni­versit­ies, research facil­it­ies and insti­tu­tions in the national and inter­na­tional sci­entific com­munity as well as the expan­sion of applic­a­tion-ori­ented cooper­a­tion with industry.

For this out­stand­ing pos­i­tion we are look­ing for a per­son­al­ity with a strong sci­entific back­ground who ful­fills the fol­low­ing require­ments:

• uni­versity degree, prefer­ably with a doc­tor­ate, prefer­ably in a sci­entific or engin­eer­ing field
• sev­eral years of exper­i­ence in research man­age­ment, ideally in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary con­texts
• dis­tinct­ive stra­tegic and con­cep­tual skills com­bined with per­suas­ive­ness as well as integ­ra­tion and assert­ive­ness
• high degree of com­mit­ment, flex­ib­il­ity and inde­pend­ent action as well as dis­tinct­ive organ­iz­a­tional skills
• proven lead­er­ship com­pet­ence with excel­lent com­mu­nic­a­tion skills (com­mu­nic­at­ive, motiv­at­ing man­age­ment style), per­son­nel man­age­ment com­pet­ence, team­work and inter­cul­tural com­pet­ence
• know­ledge of admin­is­trat­ive, grant, labor and col­lect­ive bar­gain­ing law as well as budget and account­ing in the pub­lic sec­tor
• com­pet­ent hand­ling of mod­ern com­mu­nic­a­tion and inform­a­tion tech­no­lo­gies
• excel­lent know­ledge of Ger­man and Eng­lish.
