The project position is starting April 1, 2022. The position is limited for 36 months and entails 65% of the fulltime weekly hours. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG).
production of microbial enzymes; entrapment of microbial enzymes in Pickering emulsions (PE) and dry-water powders (DWP) for biocatalytic applications; characterization of the PEs and DWPs (microscopic analysis); enzymatic catalysis in aqueous and biphasic systems; monitoring of the enzymatic reaction and optimization of the reaction conditions; chemical synthesis; analysis of low-molecular weight chemical compounds, e.g. with UV/VIS spectroscopy, gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and NMR; project scheduling and organization; written and verbal communication.
high ranked university degree (MSc, Dipl.) in Natural Sciences or comparable courses; distinct research interest and strong self-motivation; basic theoretical and practical expertise in microbial biotechnology, biochemistry, organic synthesis and chemical analysis; deeper expertise in methods of molecular biotechnology; fluent English in spoken and written; cooperation with the Chinese project partner; ability to work creative and independently; above-average commitment and ability for team work; organizational skills and disposition for taking responsibility; commitment to the rules of good scientific practice.
