The mis­sion of the Leib­niz Centre for Agri­cul­tural Land­scape Research (ZALF) as a nation­ally and inter­na­tion­ally act­ive research insti­tute is to deliver solu­tions for an eco­lo­gic­ally, eco­nom­ic­ally and socially sus­tain­able agri­cul­ture – together with soci­ety. ZALF is a mem­ber of the Leib­niz Asso­ci­ation and is loc­ated in Müncheberg (approx. 35 minutes by regional train from Ber­lin-Lichten­berg). It also main­tains a research sta­tion with fur­ther loc­a­tions in Dede­low and Pau­lin­enaue.

The work­ing group of “Gov­ernance of Eco­sys­tem Ser­vices“ has a focus on instru­ments and gov­ernance mech­an­isms for eco­sys­tem ser­vices in con­sid­er­a­tion of the role and poten­tial of dif­fer­ent stake­hold­ers with respect to their devel­op­ment and imple­ment­a­tion.

The DFG-NSFC fun­ded pro­ject “Innov­a­tion in gov­ernance of eco­sys­tem ser­vices – improv­ing eco­nomic instru­ments by res­ult-based, cooper­at­ive and digital-driven approaches - SinoPES“ aims to develop the coordin­ated, effi­cient and sus­tain­able man­age­ment and fin­an­cing mech­an­ism for eco­sys­tem ser­vices con­sid­er­ing the con­texts in Ger­many and China. Num­bers of work­shops and research vis­it­ing will form the main activ­it­ies of the pro­ject.

In order to sup­port the cood­in­a­tion, we are look­ing for, lim­ited for 6 months with up to 80 h/month, at our loc­a­tion in Müncheberg for a

Work­ing field:

Your tasks:
  • Diverse organ­iz­a­tional work, e.g. work­shop pre­par­a­tion and fol­low-up of work­ing group meet­ings and, if applic­able, social media work
  • Lit­er­at­ure research
  • Imple­ment­a­tion of sur­veys and ana­lysis of inter­views
  • Sup­port in pre­par­ing research res­ults for pub­lic­a­tion


Your qual­i­fic­a­tions:
  • Stu­dent in eco­nom­ics, human geo­graphy, agri­cul­tural eco­nom­ics, land­scape and regional plan­ning or related fields
  • Interest in sci­entific work, maybe already some exper­i­ence
  • Good com­mu­nic­a­tion skills in Ger­man and Eng­lish, Chinese lan­guage as an advant­age
  • Joy in act­ively work­ing in an inter­dis­cip­lin­ary team
