Cli­mate Ana­ly­tics is a non-pro­fit cli­mate sci­ence and policy insti­tute, estab­lished in 2008. We are based in Ber­lin (Ger­many) with offices in New York (USA), Lomé (Togo) and Perth (Aus­tra­lia) with staff and asso­cia­tes across Europe, South Ame­rica, Aus­tra­lia, Africa and Asia. The insti­tute’s mis­sion is to syn­the­sise and advance sci­en­ti­fic know­ledge in the area of cli­mate change and on this basis pro­vide sup­port and capa­city buil­ding to sta­ke­hol­ders.
Cli­mate Ana­ly­tics is a team of sci­en­tists and policy ana­lysts with long expe­ri­ence in the inter­na­tio­nal cli­mate change debate. The team is backed by its own and co-deve­lo­ped sci­ence-based models to assess and syn­the­sise cli­mate sci­ence. By lin­king sci­en­ti­fic and policy ana­ly­sis, we pro­vide state-of-the-art solu­ti­ons to glo­bal and natio­nal cli­mate change policy chal­len­ges. Through its uni­que posi­tion at the inter­face bet­ween sci­ence, policy and prac­tice, and with its excel­lent inter­na­tio­nal net­works, Cli­mate Ana­ly­tics pro­vi­des an exci­ting working envi­ron­ment with excep­tio­nal oppor­tu­nities for the pro­fes­sio­nal and per­so­nal deve­lop­ment of each employee.

Stu­dent Assist­ant – Office of the CEO

Work­ing field:

We are cur­rently seek­ing a Stu­dent Assist­ant – Office of the CEO to work closely with our Chief Exec­ut­ive Officer (CEO) and his Exec­ut­ive Assist­ant to sup­port them in their day-to-day work. In this pos­i­tion you get a deep insight into the work of an inter­na­tional non-profit organ­isa­tion, its struc­tures, pro­cesses and also the sci­entific con­tent work while cooper­at­ing with high-level man­age­ment.

Your Respons­ib­il­it­ies:

  • You will be respons­ible for schedul­ing and pre­par­ing reg­u­lar Man­age­ment Team meet­ings includ­ing the pre­par­a­tion of the meet­ing minutes.
  • You coordin­ate internal meet­ing requests for our CEO.
  • You coordin­ate the sign­ing off approved con­tracts, budgets, reports and other doc­u­ments for our CEO.
  • You sup­port to keep track of emails and work­flow and update the rel­ev­ant pro­ject man­age­ment applic­a­tions.
  • You sup­port the pre­par­a­tion of present­a­tions and talk­ing points for speak­ing events of our CEO.
  • You provide sup­port with fur­ther admin­is­trat­ive tasks such as travel book­ings, pre­par­a­tion of expense claims, sub­mit­ting invoices and oth­ers.
  • Together with our CEO and his Exec­ut­ive Assist­ant you will attend vari­ous meet­ings and will help to fol­low up on action points.
  • You will fur­ther­more be involved in other spon­tan­eous tasks related to the work of our CEO and the Exec­ut­ive Assist­ant.


You will ideally have the fol­low­ing qual­i­fic­a­tions and skills:

  • You are a stu­dent enrolled prefer­ably in a pro­gram related to either Eco­nom­ics and Man­age­ment or social and envir­on­mental sci­ence – prefer­ably with a focus on cli­mate sci­ence or policy.
  • Your strong admin­is­trat­ive skills, atten­tion to details and a meth­od­ical approach to hand­ling tasks and meet­ing dead­lines dis­tin­guish you from oth­ers.
  • You have the interest and will­ing­ness to learn about cli­mate change sci­ence and policy.
  • You have exper­i­ence in work­ing with the Microsoft office pack­age.
  • Prefer­ably you already have exper­i­ence in admin­is­trat­ive work.
  • You are very reli­able and have strong com­mu­nic­a­tion skills and pro­fes­sion­al­ism in deal­ing with decision-makers, team mem­bers and cooper­a­tion part­ners.
  • Our work­ing lan­guage is Eng­lish, there­fore excel­lent Eng­lish writ­ing and verbal skills are neces­sary.
  • Basic Ger­man skills are wel­come, but not required, other lan­guage skills are an asset.
  • Prefer­ably you can work a min­imum of 15 hours per week (max­imum 20 hours) with a min­imum of 4 hours per day of work. This will of course depend on your uni­versity sched­ule as well.
